A Happier (Bittersweet) Post Today

Finally, I got some good news. The mailman arrived with the mail. There was an envelope with my name on it but no return address. I hesitated to open it but I am so glad I did!

It came from my husband's employer and it included a cheque from the life insurance company that his work uses. Thank heavens at least one thing came through for me!

However, it is bittersweet. It is difficult to see a monetary value on my husband's life. Is his life really only worth that much? I feel he is worth so much more than the dollar amount on this cheque.

Again, bittersweet. I'm happy because now I can pay the funeral expenses and pay off a few outstanding bills. I'm sad because I am able to do this only because my husband passed away. Too bad I can't use this money to buy him back his life!

After yesterday's upsetting news, I really needed this.

Ter,
I feel for you.
When we got Williams life insurance money it made me sick. It was great that we had it but it sucked that we had it at the same time.

I rember feeling very better every time we had to use it it led to a big fight one day with my DH in the middle of the fight I heard words saying it's ok to spend the money thats what it is for. Now go and do something fun with it.

I belive to this day that it was William telling us that it was ok.

Yes I would rather of had William in my arms than the money but the money was nice to beabel to pay off the funeral exspensess.

Oh that is good news Ter. But I agree... I wish you could have Bear instead of the money too!

Big Hugs! I hope the next few days are easier.

Oh, Ter, I'm so glad. You're right...it shouldn't be this way. You shouldn't have had to worry about money, and you shouldn't be getting checks in the mail to help you carry on in the absence of your husband. :-( But I know this will be a big help. (((BIG HUGS)))

I'm glad that check arrived to help you pay those bills and relieve a little bit of stress.

I'm glad you got some good news. (I know you'd rather have Bear though. I wish you had him, too!)
Hugs,
