Quality Time

I spent the night at the hospital with Bear last night since my mom was able to stay with the pup. This time he was not so groggy, so we actually had some quality time. We spent some time walking the hallway (he is still afraid to go downstairs) and we watched some tv together. I know that doesn't sound like much but it really is.

Again they brought me a cot to sleep on. This time the mattress was much more comfortable and amazingly, this was the first night in I don't know how many weeks I fell asleep before midnight and slept most of the night.

I finally had the thought to take a picture of Bear in his chair while he was actually in it this time. It just breaks my heart to see him in his chair. Just a couple weeks ago he was walking and everything.

This morning, however, when they went to put him in his chair, he was in so much pain that he had tears running down his face. The nurse decided that he should not go into his chair just yet. Hopefully his pain subsided later on in the day.

It is so hard to leave him when I know he's in pain. There is nothing I can do to make him feel better.

Hopefully we can have another sleepover soon. If nothing else, it is nice to wake up in the same room as him.

I'm so glad you got to sleepover again. It must be nice to have *some* sense of normalcy there...if only for one night.

Glad you got better sleep.

Is that the candlelight ceremony booklet he's looking at?

I am so glad you got to have a sleepover with Bear. It does a heart so good to not be alone, both of you. I am praying for his pain to ease (if possible) and for you two to get tons of quality time together. You are in my heart and I hurt for you. I will keep praying. And your cards are so great, keep making them.

I'm so glad you were able to sleep over with Bear again. How nice of your Mom to visit and offer to care for Emma. Wouldn't it be nice for her to stay a while? If one doesn't need her mother at a time like this, then when????
