The Smallest Gestures

When I went to my father-in-law's funeral, they had gotten a single flower for each member of the family to toss into the grave at the end of the ceremony.

I was deeply touched that they gave me 3 flowers. One for me, one for Bear and one for Babybear.

It meant more than I could express.

It really is the smallest gestures that mean the most.

TO THE LADY CREWE, UPON THE DEATH OF HER CHILD by Robert Herrick
Why, Madam, will ye longer weep,
Whenas your baby's lull'd asleep?
And, pretty child, feels now no more
Those pains it lately felt before.

All now is silent; groans are fled;
Your child lies still, yet is not dead,
But rather like a flower hid here,
To spring again another year.

That WAS a lovely gesture. Must have warmed your heart to know that your loved ones were remembered on that day.
